Family and friends recall Seamus as a kind-hearted and talented individual who brought warmth and joy into their lives. He was a devoted husband to Catherine and a loving father to Ger, James, and Catriona. His adoring grandchildren will cherish the memories of his stories, music, and gentle presence.
Seamus had a passion for traditional Irish music and was known for his contribution to the local set dancing competitions. His musical talents brought smiles to many, and his warm personality made him a beloved figure in the community. From Ballygunner to Priest’s Road in Tramore, Seamus was admired for his dedication to his family, his craft, and the traditions that he so lovingly passed on.

Seamus passed peacefully at University Hospital Waterford surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday the 2nd of October 2024 RIP.
Predeceased by his beloved parents Dan and Bridget.
Seamus will be sadly missed by his loving wife Catherine, his loving children Ger, James and Catriona; his adoring grandchildren, his sister Maura, his auntie Martha and his daughter-in-law Edwina. He will be forever missed by all his nieces and nephews all his relatives, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.
The McElhinney family would like to thank with great appreciation all the members of staff in Care Choice Dungarvan and all the staff in University Hospital Waterford for the exceptional and loving care Seamus received throughout his illness.

Seamus will be reposing at Falconer’s Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, Co. Waterford, on Friday, the 4th of October, from 5pm to 7pm.

Seamus’s Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, the 5th of October, at 10am at The Church of the Holy Cross, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Immediately after Seamus will be laid to rest in adjoining Cemetery. For those who wish to take part in Seamus’s Requiem Mass remotely, please follow the link here.
Seamus’s Funeral cortege will pass his residence on Priest’s Road at approximately 09:30 and will walk from Tramore Credit Union/Lodges Corner at approximately 09:40am (weather permitting) to arrive for his Requiem Mass at 10am.
