Family and friends remember Denis Finlay as a true gentleman, known for his warmth, kindness, and the dignified presence he brought to every moment. His children, Laura, John, Denis, Richard, and Colm, along with his cherished grandchildren, recall him as a devoted father and grandfather whose company was as comforting as his words. His time at Stena Line, and his presence around Tramore, especially on walks with his children and grandchildren, created fond memories for many who knew him.
Denis’s gentle spirit and humble nature left a lasting impact on friends and neighbors alike. The Tramore prom will long remember his warm greetings and the care he showed to those around him. For those who were close, Denis was not just a neighbour or friend but a person whose every gesture reflected kindness and thoughtfulness. His passing leaves a gap in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Late of Sweetbriar Lawn, Tramore Co.Waterford, formerly of Balbriggan Co. Dublin, and formerly of Stena Line. Denis passed peacefully in his 92nd year at his home surrounded by his loving family Monday the 11th of November 2024 RIP.
Denis is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his loving sisters Jessie and Muriel
Denis will be sadly missed by his loving children, Laura, John, Denis, Richard and Colm; all his adoring grandchildren and his daughters-in-law. He will be forever missed by all his nieces and nephews, relatives, extended family and many many friends.
The Finlay Family would like to thank with great appreciation all the medical staff and carers for the exceptional care Denis received throughout his illness.

Denis will be reposing at Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, X91TW21 on Thursday the 14th of November, from 6.30pm and concluding with prayers at 7:45pm.

As per Denis’s wishes a Cremation Service will take place in Glasnevin Crematorium on Friday the 15th of November at 12 noon.
