Family and Friends Remember Marty as a kind-hearted, dependable, and truly one of life’s gentlemen, always there with a smile, a helping hand, and a warmth that made everyone feel at ease. His love for Mags was unwavering; she was his best friend, his soulmate, and the center of his world. Their bond was something special, built on love, laughter, and an unspoken understanding that only the closest of hearts share. Marty’s loyalty extended beyond family, touching the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and ability to brighten any moment with his presence.
To those who knew him, Marty was more than just a friend; he was a rock, a constant, someone you could always count on. Whether it was his humour, his work ethic, or simply his way of making people feel valued, Marty left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his many friends, and all who had the joy of sharing in his life.
Late of Riversdale, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Formerly of Moonvoy, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Marty passed peacefully at University Hospital Waterford surrounded by his loving family on Saturday the 22nd of February 2025 RIP.
Marty is predeceased by his beloved parents and his brother Tommy and his sister Anne.
Marty will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Mags, his brothers Sean, Seamus and Pat; his sister Catherine, his sisters-in-law and his brother-in-law. Marty will be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, relatives, extended family, wonderful neighbours and his many many friends.
The O’Rourke family would like to thank with great appreciation all the staff in the Oak Ward University Hospital Waterford and Dr. Hannah Greene and Catherine Hutchinson and all the staff In Family Practice, Tramore for the exceptional care and kindness Marty received throughout his illness.

Marty will be reposing at Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, Co. Waterford on Tuesday the 25th of February from 5pm to 7pm.

Marty’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday the 26th of February, at 10am at The Church of The Holy Cross, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Immediately after Marty will be laid to rest in St Declan’s Cemetery, Tramore. Anyone wishing to take part in Marty’s Requiem Mass remotely please follow the link here.
Marty’s funeral cortège will walk from Lodges Corner, Tramore Credit Union, at approximately 9:40 am to arrive for his Requiem Mass.
