Family and friends remember Josephine “Josie” O’Byrne as the kind of neighbour and mother whose warmth and kindness could light up a room. In Moonloun, Tramore, Josie’s door was always open and her welcome sincere. She was a gentle woman, deeply caring, and remembered for her quiet strength and the love she gave so freely to family, neighbours and friends alike. One recalled, “She always had a smile and never passed you without a chat,” while another shared, “She made everyone feel at home and was always good for a laugh.” Josie’s home was more than a house, it was a place of comfort, connection and community.
To many who knew her over the years, Josie will be remembered as a kind and generous soul. “She was the nicest person you could meet, always with a kind word,” one friend reflected. Another shared, “She was a lovely lady who made everyone feel welcome at her table.” There was a grace to the way Josie moved through life, never asking for much but giving everything she could. Though her loss is deeply felt, the love she gave lives on in all those she cared for. Now reunited with her beloved Michael and Michael Jnr, her gentle soul can rest peacefully.
