Family and friends remember Stephen Richards as a deeply loved husband, devoted dad, proud brother, and loyal friend who left this world far too soon. Stephen passed suddenly on Saturday 8th November 2025. Raised in Desmond Grove, Waterford City, and later settling in Ard na Groí, Tramore, he built a beautiful life with his beloved wife Laura and their three cherished sons, Ben, Andrew, and Joe. His warmth, wit and ability to connect with people made him a truly special presence in every life he touched. Whether it was family, work, music, or a quiet walk through Tramore, Stephen brought with him a kind heart, a generous spirit, and a down-to-earth sense of humour that left people better for knowing him. The family extend their heartfelt gratitude to the paramedics and emergency services for their compassionate efforts on Saturday night.
To all who knew him, Stephen will be remembered as a man who made others feel seen, heard, and valued. “We always talked about our families when we chatted. He had a kind heart and was always smiling.” Another tribute shared, “I never had the pleasure of meeting Stephen in person, but I loved and listened to many of his Disco Daze shows. Through his music, I formed lasting friendships.” One friend wrote, “He never stopped talking about Laura and the boys. They were his world. He never stopped smiling.” And from a childhood friend: “We had great laughs growing up in Desmond Grove. Rest in peace, my old friend.” His family can take comfort in knowing his legacy lives on in the music he loved, in the friendships he inspired, and in the deep love he gave.

Predeceased by his beloved parents Kathleen and David.
Stephen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Laura, his sons Ben, Andrew, and Joe; his brother Gary and his sister-in-law Eleanor. Stephen will be fondly remembered by all his nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours, and many friends.

Stephen’s reposal will take place in Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore X91TW21 on Tuesday the 11th of November from 6pm until 8pm.
All are welcome and refreshments will be served throughout.
Stephen’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday the 12th of November at 10am in The Church of the Holy Cross, Tramore, after which Stephen will be laid to rest in St. Declan’s Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend Stephen’s Mass online can do so by using the link below.
