Remembering the life of

Rita Dunne (née O’ Dwyer)

Bayview, Tramore, Waterford / Oola, Tipperary

Family and friends remember Rita Dunne as a woman of warmth, steadiness and genuine kindness, whose presence brought comfort to those around her. Originally from Ballykiveen, Oola, and later making her home in Bayview, Tramore, Rita built a life rooted in family, care and quiet resilience. She was a devoted wife to John and a loving mother to Pamela, Thomas and Ned, always placing her family at the heart of everything she did. Her grandchildren Jay, Cian, Alex and Nina were a constant source of pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent in their company. Those who knew Rita speak of a gentle soul who listened, encouraged and gave freely of herself, even during her own difficult days, leaving a lasting impression through simple acts of grace and kindness.

Her life is reflected in the heartfelt words shared in her memory. “Sincerest of condolences to John and all the family on the passing of such a lovely friendly lady. Many a chat we had over the years. Rest in peace Rita.” Another message reads, “Rita was always a lady, thinking of you all at this awful time.” One tribute recalls her strength and spirit: “Regardless of her own pain she was always quick to smile and offer words of encouragement.” And another simply captures how she is remembered by so many: “A kind and gentle lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.” Through these shared memories, Rita’s legacy lives on in the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the quiet goodness she carried throughout her life.
