Remembering the life of

Phil (Dear) Connor (née O’Hanrahan)

Richmond Terrace, Priest’s Road, Tramore, Waterford

Family and friends remember Phil “Dear” Connor as a woman whose warmth, kindness and deep love of family shaped the life she lived and the home she created. Late of Richmond Terrace and formerly of Dalkey, Phil was the heart of her home, a devoted wife to Brian and a proud mother to Barry, Ruairí, Niall, Sarah and Laura, whose lives were guided by her care, strength and constant presence. Predeceased by her siblings and her son-in-law Stephen, she remained the centre of a large and loving family and took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were always close to her heart. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter and belonging, where people felt welcome the moment they arrived, and as one message so beautifully recalls, “you were part of the family when you came through the front door,” a reflection of the openness and generosity that defined her life.

The many tributes shared in Phil’s memory speak of a woman whose kindness and character left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She is remembered as “a lovely lady who was so proud of her family,” someone whose greatest joy was always those closest to her. Others describe her as “a wonderful kind woman with a big heart,” whose care extended naturally to neighbours and friends. Memories stretch from Dalkey to Tramore, filled with laughter, friendship and the simple moments that mattered most. One message perhaps captures her best, remembering “a great character with such a kind heart,” a woman whose warmth and spirit stayed with you long after you met her. Through these memories, Phil will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a cherished friend and neighbour, and a woman whose presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Late of Richmond Terrace, Priest’s Road, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Formerly of Dalkey, Co. Dublin. Phil passed peacefully at her family home on Easter Sunday, the 5th of April 2026. RIP.

Predeceased by her siblings Kathleen, Dick, Tom, Edward, Joe and William and her son-in-law Stephen.

Phil will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Brian, her children Barry, Ruairí, Niall, Sarah and Laura; her adoring grandchildren Ashleigh, Evan, Beibhinn, Matthew, Cian, Ben, Megan, Jack, Darren, Alex, Lauren, Eoibheann, Andrew, Robyn, Joe, Kevin, Faye and Stephen; her great-grand-children Ollie and Harper; her sisters Muriel and Alice her brother Kevin; her daughters-in-law Sara, Denise, Ann-Louise and her son-in-law Gerry. Phil will be fondly remembered by all her nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, her extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours, and many many friends.

May Phil rest peacefully.
