Family and friends remember Kay Browne as a woman of quiet strength, warmth and deep devotion to her family, someone whose presence brought comfort, welcome and a true sense of home to all who knew her. Late of Grantstown in Ballygunner and formerly of Santry in Dublin and Fermoy in Cork, Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband Dan and her brothers Gerry and Eddie. She was a much loved mother to Paddy, Aoidín, Colm and Niall, and a proud and devoted grandmother to Danielle, Andrea, Stephen, Luke, Patrick, Faye, Ella, Kate, Leah and Andrew. Her family was at the centre of her world, something reflected in the words shared in her memory, with one tribute simply noting how “she loved her family” and another remembering “a wonderful lady who made all feel welcome.” Kay and Dan were often spoken of together, remembered as “a great team,” their bond evident to all who knew them and now held as part of her enduring story.
Those who knew Kay speak of a woman who lived with kindness, grace and quiet generosity, someone who left a lasting impression through simple moments, warm conversation and genuine care. From cherished memories in Fermoy and Santry to the friendships built over many years in Waterford, she was remembered as “an absolute lady” and “a lovely person” whose warmth stayed with people long after parting. Her life was described as “truly well lived,” rich in family, friendship and connection, and marked by a calm strength that shaped those around her. Many spoke of the sadness of her passing so soon after Dan, finding comfort in the belief that they are now reunited, resting peacefully together once more. Through the love she gave and the family she raised, Kay’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she leaves behind and the deep affection held for her by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
