Family and friends remember Ann Howard as a warm, thoughtful and deeply caring woman whose kindness quietly shaped the lives of so many around her. Late of Richmond Terrace, Priest’s Road, Tramore, and formerly of The Dairy, Dunleer, Ann was a devoted wife to Tim, a loving mother to Sarah, Conrad, Margaret and Elizabeth, and a treasured grandmother to Jack, Luca, Christa, Heather, Muireann and Margaux. People remembered her as “a lovely, gentle woman,” “a beautiful and unique lady,” and “a Lady to her fingertips,” reflections of the dignity, warmth and sincerity that defined her life. Whether sharing conversations at the school gates, opening her home to family and friends, or simply making people feel seen and welcome, Ann had a rare gift for putting others at ease and making them feel good.
Many spoke of Ann’s quiet courage, her generosity of spirit and the love she poured into her family. One touching tribute described her as “warm and welcoming, always encouraging and interested,” while another remembered her as someone who “felt passionately about the rights of the child and doing everything we should do to protect them.” Friends recalled Camino walks filled with laughter, neighbourly chats, kindness shown without expectation, and a woman whose gentle nature left lasting impressions wherever she went. Above all else, Ann’s life revolved around the people she loved, and the deep affection shared in the many condolences is a testament to how greatly she will be missed. Her warmth, compassion and quiet strength will remain forever in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
