Family and friends remember Shay O’Rourke as a kind, gentle and much-loved Tramore man whose life was filled with friendship, laughter and quiet goodness. Late of Moonvoy, Shay was remembered across Tramore as someone who was “always happy and smiling,” loved the chat, and left people with fond memories of his easy company. The messages shared after his passing speak of “a gentle man,” someone “always so nice and gentle,” and a man whose warmth made others feel at ease. These simple words paint a clear picture of Shay’s character and the affection he earned throughout his life.
Shay is remembered not only with sadness, but with deep fondness for the craic, the chats and the memories built over many years. One friend wrote, “Goodbye my lovely friend, many a laugh we had,” while another, who had known him since schooldays, remembered wonderful times socialising together and described him as “a kind and decent man” who would be sadly missed in Tramore and further afield. Shay leaves behind a gentle legacy of smiles, friendship and familiar kindness. May Catherine, Sean, Pat and all the O’Rourke family find comfort in knowing how warmly he was loved, how fondly he is remembered, and how peacefully he now rests.
