Remembering the life of

Patrick (Pat) McGrath

Bellake, Halfway House, Waterford, X91A523 / Waterford City, Waterford

Family and friends remember Patrick (Pat) McGrath as a man whose wit, stories and friendship enriched the lives of so many. Late of Bellake, Halfway House, and formerly of John Street, Waterford, Pat was a devoted husband to his beloved Myra, a proud father to Paul and Kevin, a cherished brother, uncle, neighbour and loyal friend. The many heartfelt messages shared in his memory paint a picture of a man who was “always great company,” whose humour, kindness and easy conversation made every gathering brighter. Friends fondly recalled his years with McGrath Dairies and the dairy at Coolnacapogue, while others remembered happy days spent hunting, competing at the hunter trials in Pallas, or enjoying a round of golf at Dunmore East Golf Club. Wherever Pat went, he was known for his warmth, his stories and the genuine pleasure of being in his company.

Those who knew Pat spoke not only of his many interests, but of the man behind them. He worked hard throughout his life, treasured friendships that lasted decades, and always had time for a chat and a smile. Neighbours described the McGrath family as the very best to live beside, while lifelong friends smiled as they remembered the laughter, conversations and countless memories they shared with him over the years. Many found comfort in the thought of Pat being reunited with his beloved Myra, whose loss he carried so deeply. The stories shared since his passing speak of a life well lived and of a man whose character left a lasting impression on everyone he met. May Paul, Kevin, Ann, Margaret, Gerry, Kevin and all who loved Pat find comfort in those treasured memories, knowing that Pat’s humour, generosity and unmistakable character will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
