Family and friends remember Mary Bernadette “Rosie” Grehan as a gentle, much-loved woman whose long life was shaped by family, kindness and the places that held her heart. Residing in Leperstown, Dunmore East and late of Knockshaunbally, Moycullen, Rosie lived her 91 years surrounded by deep roots, cherished memories and the love of many generations. She was a devoted Mam to Anthony, Amanda and Geraldine, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a beloved sister, aunt, neighbour and friend. Those who knew her remembered her as “a lovely lady and neighbour,” while another tribute recalled her as “a lovely character” whose company was enjoyed last Christmas. These simple memories speak to the warmth, personality and quiet presence Rosie brought into the lives of those around her.
Rosie is remembered with tenderness by all who loved her, from those close to home to family and friends across the United Kingdom and Australia. One of the most personal tributes described her as “the rose of Piermount,” a beautiful image for a woman held so dearly in the hearts of those who knew her best. Others found comfort in the thought of “a long life, and now in Heaven,” and in knowing that Rosie is reunited with her beloved John, her parents, her brothers and her sister gone before her. May Anthony, Amanda, Geraldine and all who loved Rosie find comfort in the memories she leaves behind, the generations of love that continue through her, and the peace she now rests in after a life lived with quiet grace.
