There’s something powerful about a painting, the way it captures emotion, memory, and the quiet moments that shape us. Art, like life, tells a story. It evokes joy, sadness, nostalgia, and connection.
At Falconers, we’ve always believed in the power of storytelling, not just through words, but through the emotions and experiences that define us. That’s why we are inviting local artists to display their work in our funeral parlour, transforming our space into one that not only honours those we say goodbye to, but also celebrates the depth of human experience.
We are looking for a few selected painters, photographers, and creatives of all kinds to contribute to this meaningful project. Each piece should reflect one of four themes:
Life – The journey, the beauty in the everyday, and the fleeting moments that stay with us forever.
Love – The moments we cherish, the stories that bring comfort after someone is gone.
Loss – The depth of loss, the weight of goodbye, and the emotions we carry.
Remembrance – The transition, the mystery, and the way we honour those who came before us.
This is more than an exhibition, it’s a way to bring art and remembrance together, creating a space where people can pause, reflect, and find meaning in the stories each piece tells.
The First Piece: Gaulstown Dolmen
We recently commissioned Anouschka Joyce to paint a special piece inspired by Gaulstown Dolmen, a place she finds deeply grounding, a place where time seems to stand still. For her, this dolmen represents peace, stillness, and an unspoken connection to the land.
She describes it as a space where she always brings an offering, a shell or a stone from the beach, as a quiet gesture of gratitude. It is these moments, the simple acts of reflection, that she wanted to capture in her painting. Her piece now hangs in Falconers, and we hope it is the first of many that will make our space one of remembrance, reflection, and beauty.

A Call to All Artists
If you’re an artist who feels a connection to these themes, we would love to hear from you. We are not just looking to display pieces, we will help you sell them.
This is a chance to be part of something deeply meaningful. Your work will be seen by 1,000s on our social media and live in a place where people come to reflect, to remember, and to honour the lives of their loved ones. Art has the power to bring comfort, spark conversation, and remind us all of what truly matters.
If you are an artist, or if you know someone whose work belongs in this space, please share this with them. We are welcoming artists of all backgrounds to submit their work and be part of this project. We’d love to hear from young artists too, so we can showcase fresh, creative talent alongside our Star Kids library.

Send us your work
To submit your work, email Mark at mark@falconersundertakers.com. Space is limited, so get in touch today, and we’ll let you know if your art can be showcased and available for sale in our parlour.
Thank you for helping us make Falconers not just a place for goodbye’s, but a place of meaning, memory, and art.
Thank you,
The Falconer Family
