Family and friends remember Kathleen Dunphy as a woman of unwavering love, quiet strength and endless generosity. She lived a long life rooted in kindness, warmth and a deep devotion to her family. In Riverstown, she was known as a gracious neighbour, a loving mother and a guiding presence to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Kathleen and her late husband Matty built a home where laughter echoed and visitors were always welcome. Her joy was found in the simple things, making others feel at ease, sharing stories, and celebrating every milestone of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even her great great grandchild. One tribute said it best: “What a lovely person and great neighbour to all, always with a smile.” Another read, “Kathleen was an amazing lady who has left a wonderful legacy in her family.” Even those who knew her only briefly described her as “a truly wonderful lady” whose light and kindness will be deeply missed.
Kathleen’s strength came not just from enduring loss of her beloved husband Matty, grandson Gavin, sister Peggy and brothers John, Paddy, Danny and Mickey but from how she responded with grace, resilience and a heart still open to joy. She was happiest surrounded by family and her cherished cousin Mai, her lifelong friend and companion in laughter. In recent weeks, many have recalled sitting with her, sharing stories and feeling better just from her company. One visitor said, “I am so happy I spent a great afternoon with you recently.” Her presence was the kind you never forget. As the Dunphy family now face this great loss, they can take comfort in knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by love, and that the community around her is holding her memory dearly. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Matty, her cherished grandson Gavin, her sister Peggy and her brothers John, Paddy, Danny and Mickey.
Kathleen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken children Michael, Mary, Frances, Pat, John and Martina, her sons and daughters-in-law, all her adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchild. Kathleen will be fondly remembered by all her nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, her cousin and best friend Mai, her extended family, relatives and many friends.

Kathleen’s reposal will take place in Falconer’s Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore X91TW21 on Friday the 5th of December from 2pm until 5pm.

Kathleen’s Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday the 6th of December at 10am in The Church of the Holy Cross, Tramore, Co. Waterford, after which Kathleen will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Anyone wishing to attend Kathleen’s mass can be viewed online by using the link below.

Kathleen’s Funeral Cortege will leave from her family home at approximately 9:30am and will walk from Tramore Credit Union/Lodges Corner to arrive for her Requiem Mass at 10am.
