Family and friends remember Kay McCarthy as a warm, friendly, and kind-hearted lady who always made others feel welcome. Messages of condolence speak of her elegance, her vibrant personality, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Neighbours fondly recall her optimism and cheerful presence, which made Sweetbriar Lawn a wonderful place to live. Kay was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, deeply loved and admired by her family.
Her love for music left a lasting impression on the staff and residents of the Holy Ghost Residential Home and many friends. Reunited now with her beloved husband, Billy Sr., and her son, Billy Jr., Kay’s legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Late of Sweetbriar Lawn, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Kay passed peacefully in UHW surrounded by her loving family on Friday the 27th of December 2024 RIP.
Predeceased by her husband Billy Sr and her son Billy Jr.
Kay will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Celine and her sons, Declan and Ronan; her sons in law, Liam and Des; her daughters in law, Maura and Evelyn. Kay will be missed by all her grandchildren, Kate, Sarah, Claire, Donal, Kevin, Kieran, Darragh and Róisín, her great grandchildren, Conor, Caoimhe, Oisín, Fiachra, Fionn, Caelan and Aoife. Kay will be forever remembered by her brother, George and brother in law, Paddy. She will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
The McCarthy family would like to thank, with great appreciation, the staff of The Holy Ghost Residential Home, Waterford for all the care given to Kay while she was there.

Kay will be reposing at Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, Co. Waterford on Monday the 30th of December from 5pm to 7pm.

Kay’s Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday the 31st of December, at 10am at The Church of The Holy Cross, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Immediately after Kay will be laid to rest in the St Declans cemetery, Tramore. Anyone wishing to take part in Kay’s Requiem Mass remotely please follow the link here.
Kay’s funeral cortege will pass her residence in Sweetbriar Lawn at approximately 9:35am and will then walk from Lodges Corner/Tramore Credit union to arrive for her Requiem Mass.
