Remembering the life of

Kay O’Sullivan (née Walshe)

Clarinwood, Tramore, Waterford / Donard, Wicklow

Family and friends remember Kay O’Sullivan as the kind of woman who made every person feel seen, heard and welcome. Born in Donard, County Wicklow, and later settling in Tramore, she brought a gentle presence and a warm smile wherever she went. She was a proud wife to Jim, a loving mother to Jamie, David, Amanda and Sandra, and a grandmother who lit up at the mention of Alex, Lee, Tommy, Jack, Ben and Matthew. Kay was a natural nurturer, someone whose company could steady a hard day and whose laughter made the good days even better. Her home was filled with love, the scent of her baking, and the quiet grace of a woman who lived for her family.

She is remembered with tears and gratitude by her siblings and extended family and by all who were lucky enough to know her. One neighbour said, “Kay always had a kind word and a gentle smile. She made the world a brighter place just by being in it.” Another shared, “She was a beautiful soul who left a mark on every life she touched. I will never forget her warmth and generosity.” Someone who knew her through the golf club simply said, “Kay was a lady, always cheerful, always gracious.” From Wicklow to Waterford, her life wove quiet threads of care through her community. Her family thanked the staff of Kilbarry Nursing Home, whose compassion in her final hours will never be forgotten. Kay was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
