Family and friends remember Margaret “Peggy” Galvin as a lovely, kind and much-loved woman whose life connected Cahiruane, Kill with Finsbury Park in London, where she built deep friendships and left a lasting mark on many hearts. Peggy was dearly loved by her sister Katie, her brothers Paddy and Teddy, her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Those who knew her remember a woman who “always had time for a chat and a laugh,” someone who was “always a lady,” and a beautiful person who was loved by her friends in Finsbury Park. Her kindness, humour and warmth made her unforgettable to those who shared in her life.
Peggy is remembered with great affection for the wonderful times she shared in London, for the friendships she nurtured, and for the care she gave so naturally to others. One tribute recalled her as being “like a mother,” fondly remembering her from East Finchley allotments, the ladies dart team in London, and as “such a fantastic cook.” Another remembered how Peggy was “so good and kind to so many,” while others spoke of her summer visits, her sense of humour, and the many happy memories she leaves behind. May Katie, Paddy, Teddy and all Peggy’s family find comfort in knowing how deeply she was loved, how warmly she will be remembered in both Waterford and London, and how peacefully she now rests.
