Family and friends remember Paddy Roche as a man who made you feel like you’d known him forever, even if you’d only just met. A natural storyteller with a glint in his eye and time for a chat, Paddy’s company was something people gravitated to. Many who shared a drink or a quiet word with him will remember the laughter he sparked, the calm wisdom he shared, and the ease with which he turned strangers into friends.
In recent days, the messages of sympathy have said it best, he was “one of life’s true gentlemen,” “always enjoyed the craic,” “a wonderful neighbour,” and “a grandad to everyone.” Whether it was a family gathering or a quick chat on the street, Paddy left people smiling. As his loved ones prepare to lay him to rest, they’re lifted by the stories, love, and memories that continue to pour in, a testament to a man who was, and always will be, so deeply cherished.
