Family and friends remember Peter Pluter Halloran as a gentle, loyal and kind-hearted man whose quiet humour and generous nature touched the lives of all who knew him. Late of Central Avenue, Lisduggan and formerly of Tramore, Peter was a beloved partner to Ann and a steady presence in the lives of her sons Martin and John. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Lally and his sister Catherine, and his memory is deeply held by his many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and all the extended Halloran and Curran families. Whether catching up with neighbours, chatting over football memories, or lending a hand without ever needing to be asked, Peter made people feel seen and valued. He was the kind of man who left others better for having known him.
Messages from friends and neighbours paint the picture of a man remembered with love and deep respect. One friend wrote, “He was a lovely man and so easy to deal with, it was a privilege to help care for him.” Another shared, “Fond memories of years gone by of a gentleman, gone but never forgotten.” A former teammate said, “He was a genuine guy, funny and great company, he will be missed by all.” A neighbour remembered, “Pluter was a lovely man who always had time for a chat, a true gentleman.” One tribute captured the collective sorrow beautifully: “He was one of a kind, warm, kind and full of character, cherish the memories because there are so many.” In every memory shared, Peter lives on through laughter, kindness and a deeply rooted sense of community that will not be forgotten.
