Remembering the life of

Spence Birrell

Bayview, Tramore, Waterford

Family and friends remember Spence Birrell as a kind and gentle man who was much loved by his family and remembered warmly by those who knew him. Late of Bayview, Tramore and formerly of Leven, Fife, Scotland, Spence was the beloved husband of the late Mary, a much-loved Dad to Robert, father-in-law to Martina and cherished Grandad to Adam and Sarah. The messages shared since his passing speak with great affection of the man he was and of the close family around him. Friends spoke particularly of the wonderful care Robert and Martina gave Spence, while one tribute remembered him simply as “a kind and gentle man.”

The condolences shared by people in Tramore also show the affection in which Spence was held. Tramore Community Care and its Meals on Wheels team and volunteers were among those who offered their sympathy, while many messages spoke warmly of Robert, Martina, Adam and Sarah and the loss they now share. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his sister Helen, Spence will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Peggy, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Robert, Martina, Adam, Sarah, Peggy and all who loved Spence find comfort in the memories they shared with him, and may Spence rest peacefully.
