Family and friends remember Teresa Furlong (née Long) as a warm, kind, and spirited woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She brought joy to every encounter, whether it was a friendly chat or her ever-present smile. Fondly described as a great character and a cherished neighbour, Teresa’s dedication to her family and her positive outlook on life left an indelible impression on everyone she met. Her lively spirit and generosity were deeply appreciated by those in her community.

Her devotion to her family and the special bond she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are lasting testaments to her loving nature. Late of Beechwood Avenue, Lower Grange, Waterford City, formerly of Dominic’s Place, Waterford City. Teresa passed peacefully in Mowlam Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday the 4th of December 2024 RIP.
Teresa is predeceased by her beloved husband Michael; her six brothers; her five sisters and her treasured grandson Darren.
Teresa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Dominic , Fiona, Claire, Alan, Eric and Anne-Marie; her adoring grandchildren Michael, Kenny, Jamie, Kevin, Andrew, Luke, Kieran, Charlie, Darragh, Kealan, Heather, Rory, Oisin, Alex, Sophia and Josh; her eight great-grandchildren; her sisters Peggy, Eily and Phylis; her brother Eddie; her sons-in-law and her daughters-in-law. She will be forever missed by all her nieces, nephews, all her relatives, extended family, wonderful neighbours, and her many many friends.
The Furlong family would like to thank with great appreciation all the staff of Mowlam Nursing Home for the exceptional care Teresa received throughout her time there.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Teresa will be reposing at her daughter Claire’s House X91V2C0 in Ballygunner on Friday the 6th of December from 4pm to 7pm.

Teresa’s Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, the 7th of December, at 2pm at The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, Waterford City. Immediately after Teresa will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, Co. Waterford. For those who wish to take part in Teresa’s Requiem Mass remotely, please follow the link here.
Teresa’s Funeral cortege will be walking from her home on Beechwood Avenue at approximately 1:30pm to arrive for her Requiem Mass at 2pm.
