Family and friends remember Theresa Lonergan as a woman of warmth, grace and deep devotion to her family, whose life was shaped by love and quiet strength. Originally from Wexford Town and later making her home in Carrigeen, Kill, Theresa built a life centred on togetherness and steady care for those around her. Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick, she carried his memory with tenderness while remaining the heart of her family. She was a devoted mother to Michaela, Theresa and David, and found great joy in her grandchildren Sarah, Aaron and Darren, and in her treasured great-grandchildren Logan, Ollie and Rhys. Whether through a welcoming smile, a thoughtful word, or the comfort of familiar conversation, Theresa’s presence brought reassurance and warmth to those fortunate enough to know her.
The tributes shared in her memory reflect the lasting impression she made. “She was a lady… Rest in Peace Theresa.” Another message recalls, “I have lovely memories of the warm, kind, gentle and engaging person that Theresa was.” One neighbour shared, “She was so welcoming to us when we moved to the lane… we will miss her smiling face and daily wave.” And in words that speak to the love surrounding her, “She will always live in your hearts.” Through these heartfelt memories, Theresa’s legacy lives on in the closeness of her family, the strength she showed throughout her life, and the quiet goodness that defined her every day.
