Family and friends remember Tommy Murphy as a man whose kindness never needed announcing. Whether you knew him from Blossom Hill in Kilmacow, from across the garden wall in Beech Park, or during his years working in Bescos, you remember him the same way, gentle, warm, and quietly generous with his time. To his beloved wife, Carol, and son, Trevor, Tommy was everything: a devoted husband, a proud dad, and a steady presence in all seasons of life. His sister Mary, his extended family, and his neighbours in Tramore and Kilmacow will remember him not just with love but with lasting gratitude for the smiles he shared, the help he gave without ever being asked, and the dignity with which he moved through the world.
Those who worked with him knew his wit and loyalty. Those who met him on the promenade knew his kindness and friendly wave. And those who gathered with him each year for coffee mornings or cards still feel the quiet space he filled just by being himself. “The promenade will never be quite the same without him,” one neighbour said. That gentle truth holds a world of meaning. May his calm spirit rest peacefully, and may those who loved him carry forward the decency, humour, and thoughtfulness that defined his life.
