Family and friends remember Tony Gavin as a true gentleman, deeply devoted to his family and cherished by all who knew him. His wife, Eileen, and children, John, Ann, Claire, and Laura, were the center of his world, and his affection extended deeply to his grandchildren: Emma, Conor, Sara, Isla, Oisín, Oren, Harry, Lily, Paddy, Elliot, and Morgan. Tony’s friendly demeanor and engaging conversations left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
Tony’s roots in Ballyhard, Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, fostered a lifelong passion for hurling, a sport he both played and passionately supported. His professional journey with Ulster Bank showcased his dedication and integrity, earning him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. In retirement, Tony continued to enrich the lives of others, whether through his involvement in the community or his love for sports. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and warmth will be fondly remembered.
Late of Ballinakill, Waterford. Formerly of Ballyhard, Glenamaddy, Co. Galway and Ulster Bank. Tony passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the 3rd of March in University Hospital Waterford. RIP.
Deeply loved and sadly missed by his wife Eileen (nee Hogan) and his family; son John, daughters Ann, Claire and Laura. Treasured granddad to Emma, Conor, Sara, Isla, Oisín, Oren, Harry, Lily, Paddy, Elliot and Morgan. Beloved brother of Iggy and his wife Norma, New York. Father-in-law to Kevin, Vincent, Shea and Ness. Tony will be greatly missed by his relatives, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Tony will be reposing at Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, Co. Waterford on Wednesday the 5th of March from 5pm to 7pm.

Tony’s Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday the 6th of March, at 10am at St Mary’s Church Ballygunner, Co. Waterford. Anyone wishing to take part in Tony’s Requiem Mass remotely please follow the link here.
As per Tony’s wishes a private Cremation Service will take place at 4pm in The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.
