Family and friends remember Vera Cannell for the warmth and welcome she extended wherever she went. A devoted mother to Nicholas and loving grandmother to Seán, her bright laugh and easy kindness were hallmarks of every gathering. Neighbours still recall her strolls around Ard Haven, often pausing to offer a friendly greeting or a moment of cheer, and friends remember how she never missed cheering on “The Déise,” her beloved team, at every match. In her presence, simple visits became moments of genuine connection, and her hospitality made every house feel like home.
Beyond her family circle, Vera’s generous spirit touched countless lives. Whether quietly supporting a neighbour in need or welcoming friends old and new into her salon, she offered comfort and companionship with grace. Her gentle strength and gracious manner made her a pillar of the Tramore community, one whose legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering care will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Late of Ard Haven, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Formerly of Pond Villas, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Vera passed peacefully at her home on Friday the 13th of June 2025. RIP.
Predeceased by her adored husband Peter and beloved parents Caít and Claus.
Vera will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Nicholas, his partner Lynn and her treasured grandson Seán, her sister Joan and her husband Jerry and niece Kate. She will be remembered always by her beloved and life long friends Ann, Denise and Liz, her extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours, and many friends.
The Cannell family would like to thank with great appreciation all her neighbours, medical carers and all the staff in University Hospital Waterford and Tramore Medical Practice for the exceptional care Vera received throughout her illness’s.

Vera’s reposal will take place in Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore X91TW21 on Monday the 16th of June from 5pm until 7pm.
All are welcome & refreshments will be served throughout.
Vera’s Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday the 17th of June at 10am in The Church of the Holy Cross, Tramore. Anyone wishing to attend Vera’s Mass online can do so by using the link here.
As per Vera’s wishes, a private cremation will take place at a later date.

Vera’s Funeral Cortege will leave from her residence in Ard Haven at approximately 09:30am on Tuesday morning and will then walk from Lodges Corner/Tramore Credit Union to arrive for her Requiem Mass.
